How to Cook Filipino Style Simple Adobo
Adobo is one of the famous Filipino dishes that can be cooked with pork or chicken or pink and chicken. It is also best served and eaten with steamed rice or fried rice. Adobo is basically meat cooked in a soy sauce and mostly with wedged potatoes.
Ingredients are dependent on the style taste of the cook but the main ingredients are:
1. Meat: Pork only or Chicken only or Pork and Chicken for a much tastier treat. Meat are cut in smaller portions in order to cook faster and softer.
2. Soy/ Oyster Sauce depending on the thickness and saltiness you prefer.
3. Vinegar to make the meat softer and balance the saltiness of the soy/ oyster sauce
4. Potatoes cut in wedges.
5. Laurel Leaves and Pepper to add a better flavor.
6. Garlic and Onions
Procedure
1. Marinate meat and soy sauce together with garlic and onions, laurel leaves and pepper for more than 30 minutes.
2. Cook marinated meat together with used marinated sauce until half cooked.
3. Add potatoes and an amount of water to make it more saucy but not too much to ensure flavor. Add more soy sauce if needed.
4. Continue cooking until meat and potato are properly cooked.
